Dear Chorus Parents:
The following is offered in an effort to keep parents informed concerning membership in the Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus.
The Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus is a performance group. The focus of the class is preparation for our concerts. All students who are members of the Chorus are expected to fulfill their obligations by:
• Attending all rehearsals as scheduled.
• Attending all performances in which the Chorus takes part, including
assembly programs and public concerts (at school and away).
• Wearing proper attire for all concerts (White buttoned collar tops and dark or black slacks).
• Exhibiting proper behavior at concerts and rehearsals
Two evening performances for the Chorus at West Rocks have been scheduled for Wednesday evenings, December 10, 2008 and May 13, 2009, both concerts beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Each member plays a vital part in the Chorus and the success of the Chorus depends upon the total enrollment being present. Absences due to illness, emergencies, and religious observances are always excusable. An emergency does not include family vacations or other social activities.
The 7th & 8th Grade Chorus takes part in a field trip to an adjudication festival and trip to Six Flags in the Spring. Seating is limited, and attendance will be based on overall responsibility and attendance at Concerts. Last year the trip cost $75. Fund raising will be available.
Chorus members may audition after the start of school for a select group, the Vocal Ensemble. Last year the Ensemble met Tuesday and Thursday mornings before school
