Tuesday, March 31st - Wednesday, April 1st 2009    2 Days/3 Meals
 
DAY ONE Tuesday March 31st Meals: Dinner provided
 6:30 am Prompt departure from Roton Middle School as we head for historic Philadelphia, with a comfort stop en route.
10:30 am Visit the National Liberty Museum with a combination of art, historical and interactive exhibits celebrating our nation's heritage of freedom and tolerance, diversity and non-violence.
12:00 noon Lunch on own at The Bourse (meaning place of exchange) Food Court at Independence Mall with over a dozen dining options and souvenir shops.
 1:15 pm Arrive at the groundbreaking museum, the National Constitution Center on Independence Mall.  Here we'll see a multimedia presentation (at 1:30 pm) before viewing unique interactive exhibits.
 2:30 pm Our expert costumed guides meet us here (at the Main Entrance) for a walking tour of historic Philadelphia.
 3:30 pm Line up for security check before our timed entry to Independence Hall.  Timed entries are:  54 people @ 4pm & 54 people @ 4:20pm.
 5:00 pm Meet our coaches at the Independence Transportation Center and depart.
 5:15 pm Enjoy dinner at the Spaghetti Warehouse (1026 Spring Garden St b/t 10th and 11th) with pre-selected choices of:  Spaghetti w/ Meatballs, Lasagna or Manicotti.
 6:30 pm Free activity to be announced.....could be photo opportunity, browsing, visiting the waterfront, etc.
7:45 pm Arrive for the 8pm and 8:15 pm timed entries to the Lights of Liberty Show where we'll experience the American Revolution as it happened, during this outdoor sound & light spectacular.   Headsets provide full surround sound with narration telling the story of our nation's birth and experience special effects and imaging projected upon the buildings where historic events actually took place. (Weather permitting; an alternative production will be offered if "Lights" is cancelled due to weather).
9:30 pm Meet our coaches and depart for Northeast Philadelphia and check into the newly renovated with a fresh contemporary feel, the Sheraton Four Points Northeast Phila. (215-671-9600) with rooms featuring upgraded Sheraton bedding, free wi-fi, coffeemaker, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, microwave and refrigerator.   Those who wish may swim in the indoor pool open until 11pm (no lifeguard on duty).
9:45 pm Pizza Party (including assorted sodas & pizzas) will be available in a private room until 10:45 pm.
 

DAY TWO Wednesday April 1st Meals: Breakfast and Lunch provided

 7:30 am Enjoy a breakfast buffet at our hotel.
 8:30 am Check out and depart for New York City.  If running early, we have the option to explore Times Square before lunch.
12:00 pm Arrive for lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe (1501 Broadway @ Times Square).
 1:15 pm Meet our coaches for the short drive (approx 7 blocks) over to the Gershwin Theatre (222 West 51st St) by 1:30 pm where we'll take our (Rear Mezzanine) seats for the 2pm performance of Wicked, the untold musical story of The Wizard of Oz's Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good....before Dorothy dropped in!  Based on the imaginative Gregory Maguire novel, Wicked takes a fantasy journey through the unseen side of Oz, sharing  tale of unexpected friendship and love.  Running time:  2 hrs., 45 mins.
 4:45 pm Meet our coaches and depart for home, arriving Norwalk (Roton Middle School) approx 6:15-6:30 pm.
